One of the most prevalent reasons that families consider the option of admitting their loved one into a facility for long-term care is because these settings often offer the unique opportunity for recreational activity and socialization in the place that they live.  The elder may have all other portions of their needs met in the home, but they lack the ability to engage in activities and socialization that is imperative in this precious stage of life.
